It’s Time Again to Fish With Clay
tradition (tra-di-tion): activity that happens regularly and is usual, i.e. an activity that happens regularly and has become the usual thing
The Clay Roberts Inshore Slam Fishing Tournament has become a tradition for the fishing community on Father’s Day weekend. We are pleased to announce The Seventh Annual Clay Roberts Inshore Slam Fishing Tournament and Junior Angler Tournament are scheduled for Saturday June 20th, 2015. Thanks to the generosity and hard work of many friends and supporters, the Tournament has become one of the favorites among fisherman and their families. The introduction of our Junior Angler Tournament last year was a complete success and we look forward to a great turnout this year. The competition is open for ages four to fifteen. Prizes will be awarded to the top ten junior fishermen. Over $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded.
All proceeds from the tournament help fund the Clay Roberts Memorial Scholarship. Clay’s Scholarship is rewarded each year to a graduating senior each year who emulates Clay’s spirit and values; who through their demonstrated involvement makes a difference in the lives of others. To date, six renewable scholarships have been awarded.
Clay’s two greatest passions in life were being on the water fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Clay’s tournament is a family event. As in years past, several hundred people will attend this year’s tournament making it the premier slam tournament of the season.
We appreciate your willingness to support “In River Or Ocean” and Clay’s Memorial and Junior Angler Fishing Tournaments. Come join the fun at this year’s Tournament. Bring the family for a day of fun on the water. Discover the “magic” that Clay found in our rivers and oceans.
